I think I will be cleaning dust from every corner of my house for a while to come still. I’m amazed at the places that it is turning up! In my drawers? In the cupboard? Our house was tightly locked up on the day of the storm but it seems that the dust was of the sneaky variety, being a mastermind at slipping through the cracks (so to speak).

I can still taste the dust in my mouth and throat.

we welcomed two sweet little girls into our household this past weekend and helped them settle in comfortably into their new coop. we’ve named them ramona (darker feathers) and eleanor (light brown and cream feathers) and they are the most timid, good natured little chickens i’ve seen! they’ve survived their first (kinda) hot day of the season, some rain, thunder and lightning, and even gave us two tiny little eggs.
it’s fascinating to watch them during the day as they wander through the yard in search of insects and other gourmet treats that they scratch up in the dirt and grass. i find myself taking my cups of tea outside and sitting on the back steps to watch them as they casually wander and talk to each under their breaths. i’m hoping that our gardens will survive as these two little ladies are proving to be masters of digging up things and get right into the mulch pile with only their tails visible poking up as they work!

A Sunday in the city with my Mum & B.
Lots of colour, lots of sun (hot day!), lots of people.
The Brisbane Festival has started and the city has really come to life!
