i expect to pass through life but once
March 12, 2009

i’m a little late in posting this but better late than never. i caught snippets of the Oscars the other week and scribbled down a wonderful quote jerry lewis recited when he received his award for humanitarian efforts:
“I expect to pass through life but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do to any fellow being,
let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it,
as I shall not pass this way again.”~William Penn
[Photo: taken at the Jacaranda Festival last october]
edit: i just noticed that it looks like the genie in the photo is shooting laser beams from his eyes. spooky!

[i like this photo by carl kleiner]
i’ve been bunkering down a little this week waging a small war with what seems to be the beginnings of the flu/evil-death-virus passed on, me thinks, from the ever lovely B. so really, it’s not so bad. so far though, I seem to be winning, and it’s been nice to kind of lay low a bit and rest a little.
so, for now, let me divert your attention to:
this by yuken teruya. have a look at his site for other interesting projects he’s done. [found via boom]
i’ve been enjoying exploring elizabeth fleming’s photography. she has a blog too that i plan to come back to when i’m more lucid but i noticed a little banner which reads: “ask me, i’ve got answers. women photographers helping women photographers.” sounds great already! i’m keen to read more!
this looks good too.
thanks to my awesome friend, it looks like i’m going to semi-permanent this year! he was kind enough to get me a ticket for my birthday which is the same day as the event. very excited.
and finally, i routinely come back to these two videos whenever i need cheering up.
